Georgia: Board Denies Clemency For Troy Davis

Troy Davis is scheduled for execution Wednesday night at 7 pm.  His petition for Clemency was denied Tuesday morning after the Georgia Board of Paroles and Pardons heard both sides. Martina Correia, Davis’ sister, said, “It’s been like reliving a nightmare over and over. … But we believe in our brother’s innocence.”  The MacPhail family is anxious to see Davis executed and finally see justice.

WITHOUT A REASONABLE DOUBT! One of the original Jury members expressed doubt about the decision.  Seven of the 9 witnesses recanted.  One of the witnesses that didn’t recant was an original suspect in the murder.  The murder weapon doesn’t connect Troy Davis to the murder of officer MacPhail.  He was convicted in 1991, in Georgia.  I want to say I’m surprised about this decision.  But, I’m not. I’m just disheartened.
